If you shop at Trader Joe’s, you might know that they have a seasoning salt in with their spices. It’s an all purpose seasoning salt that has pretty good flavor.
But I like making my own spice mixes from bulk herbs and spices because it saves money and it’s, dare I say… fun!
I love getting into the heady aromas of my spice cabinet and mixing up some concoction to make what I’m cooking taste fabulous. It’s one of the best parts about cooking. At least for me…
So I snapped a photo of their ingredient list and got to work. It turned out pretty tasty and I’ll be using this on a lot of meals. It goes great with chicken, fish or beef. I haven’t tried it on pork yet, but I’m sure it’ll be great on that too!

Ingredients
- 4 tbsp. onion powder
- 3 tbsp. garlic powder
- 2 tbsp. sea salt
- 1 tbsp. celery seed
- 1 tbsp. paprika
- 1 tsp. dry mustard
- 1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
Instructions
- Combine all spices in a bowl and whisk together.
- Store in a food-safe container.
