Low Carb and Keto Cream Cheese Frosting recipe that is so simple you’ll want to add it to all of your favorite low carb desserts and cupcakes.
We talked about how a classic cupcake with frosting is a mandatory must during birthday celebrations back with our Keto Cupcakes post. There is something absolutely perfect about a hefty dollop of frosting onto said cupcakes.
I know that this is a controversial topic. Some prefer more cake than frosting ratio and others want ALL the frosting. I’m in the latter category. Give me all the frosting. If the frosting is larger than the actual cupcake, even better.
Whether you will spoon the entire batch of frosting onto one cupcake or use it a little more sparingly, this keto cream cheese frosting is for you.
How Many Net Carbs per Low Carb Keto Cream Cheese Frosting serving
1 Net Carbs per tablespoon of our cream cheese frosting. Or 36 Net Carbs for the entire batch of cream cheese frosting. Which of course keep in mind you are not going to be eating the entire batch of frosting. This is enough to frost an entire cake or 12 low carb chocolate cupcakes.
I would say I add about 2-3 Tablespoons of frosting onto each cupcake like you see in the pictures. But you can DEFINITELY use less frosting per each cupcake if you would like, or you like less frosting to cake ratio. 😉
Note:Â The Net Carbs per serving is by subtracting the sugar alcohol powdered erythritol.
My family does subtract the sugar alcohols and I’ll continue to provide that sugar alcohol grams above the nutrition card below and you can decide for yourself if you want to follow that.
PLEASEÂ do not shame or be mean to others who might do things a little differently. That is not what we are about here. We all are following different carb counts for the day for what works for individual needs. What might not work for you works for others!
If you are new to this Low Carb/Keto lifestyle and are unsure what we are talking about please feel free to read up more on Net Carbs and why people do or don’t subtract sugar alcohols.
The secret to perfect Cream Cheese Frosting
This baking tip was passed onto me a couple years back and I think it is just pure absolute gold. The secret to having perfect frosting is this. . .
After you finish combining the ingredients and it becomes the consistency of frosting you want it to be. Continue mixing for another 3-4 minutes on low. This is especially easy if you have a stand mixer because you can set it and walk away to begin cleaning up. But even if using a hand mixer just trust me, this creates smooth and pure frosting without any hint of graininess. THAT is our secret to making the best Keto Cream Cheese Frosting.

Can I add cocoa powder to make this chocolate?? Any idea how much?
Yes absolutely!
How long can I store this for? TIA
My husband and I are both extremely odd about cream cheese and it sitting out. So for under 24hours we will allow it to sit on the counter.. After that for some reason we just aren’t OK with that and place it in the fridge.
What would be the equivalent stevia or Splenda measurement in place of the Erythritol? It’s all I have on hand & would like to make the cupcakes & the cream cheese frosting??? TY
You want to use a powdered sweetener alternative. This sweetener conversion guide can help with what we’ve worked with and convert decently enough. We personally don’t work with Splenda though for personal reason so really can’t advise the ratio needed.
Very good. Perfect amount of sweetness.
I made this frosting and your Keto Chocolate Cupkakes today and it and the cupcakes were amazing…Thank You!!
Don’t walk….RUNNNNN to your kitchen and make this icing….sooo light, luscious, just the right amount of sweet! ?â¤â¤â¤
Ahhhh!!! Love this comment. 😉 🙂
